Important legislative changes from 1 January 2026

Barrel Blanks Newly Classified as Main Firearm Components

Dear Customers,

as of 1 January 2026, the new Act No. 90/2024 Coll., on Firearms and Ammunition, enters into force. This law significantly changes the legal status of products that have so far been freely available, particularly barrel blanks and other unfinished main firearm components — such as barrels without a completed chamber.

The new legislation specifies that a barrel blank (main firearm component) is now considered a regulated firearm part and is subject to the same legal regime as a finished main firearm component.

According to § 2(4) and § 9 of Act No. 90/2024 Coll.:

➡️ Barrel blanks intended for manufacturing a firearm part that requires registration may be handled only by holders of a firearm licence or persons authorised to transfer such items across borders.

What does this mean for our customers?

Barrel blanks and other main firearm components that we have so far offered freely will, from 1 January 2026, be available only to entities holding a valid firearm licence.

Private individuals without a firearm licence will no longer be able to purchase these blanks.

Last opportunity to purchase without restrictions

Until 31 December 2025, sales remain unchanged.

Barrel blanks without a chamber remain freely available.

If you are considering a future purchase, we recommend not delaying and using the opportunity to stock up under the current rules.

Next steps

Throughout the year 2026, we will explore all available legal options to continue offering our products — for example through cooperation with licence holders or adjustments to our product range.

We will keep you informed about all developments on our website.
