The "Desert Eagle" (English Desert Eagle), sometimes called the Falcon, or also "Deagle [Dígl]", is a semi-automatic pistol of Israeli production. The first design was created in 1979. The first prototype was produced two years later by Magnum Research Inc. and IMI (an abbreviation of Israeli Military Industries). The pistol is currently manufactured by IMI, in 1995 production was moved to Saco Defense in the state of Maine in the USA, but in 2000 it returned to Israel after Saco was taken over by General Dynamics. The Desert Eagle is a large, heavy pistol (some versions weigh almost two kilograms) and is therefore one of the largest in the world. It is sometimes used by hunters to hunt large and hardy game. However, it is not suitable for everyday wear, the main reason being its considerable weight and bulkiness. The Desert Eagle is produced in several variants in the calibers .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .440 Corbon and the most powerful .50 Action Express. The barrels also have different lengths – 15 and 25 centimeters. Until 1999, a variant with a length of 35 centimeters was produced. The magazine has a capacity of 9 rounds for .357 Magnum, 8 rounds for .44 Magnum and .41 Magnum and 7 rounds for .440 Corbon and .50 AE. The pistol is produced in chrome, black and other color versions. Due to the specificity of the weapon, it is not expected to be introduced as a standard weapon by any armed forces. The high recoil of all its calibers makes it impossible to use for the police due to poor handling. The large dimensions and weight do not allow for concealed or long-term carrying and slow down the handling of the weapon. The low capacity is another disadvantage. However, the Desert Eagle is very popular among civilian shooters. As a very powerful and impressive weapon, it is considered a symbol, even an artifact, and holding one in your hand is an experience of a lifetime for most gun enthusiasts. Source: Wikipedia
